Race Night Success and Thanks

FOLA125 held its first Race Night at Lenzie Rugby Club on Friday 21st May to raise much needed funds for Lenzie Academy.

Under starters orders, parents, teachers and family friends met for an evening of fun and friendship.  Our evening was ably hosted by Mel from Sporty Races who quickly got the meet under way and assisted the novices and seasoned race goers through the eight races and race card extras; stand up bingo and roll the pound at the bottle.

With a buffet supplied by the Indian Cottage to add to the entertainment, FOLA125’s first race night was a great success and raised £1,200 for the School.  At the request of the pupils this money will be used to buy benches for the new social area.

FOLA125 would like to thank its race sponsors; Lonnach Catering, Andrew King Optician, Eric & Jacqui Miller, Steven the Barber, Douglas Bowie Landscaping & Plant Hire, Lenzie Academy Parent Council and the mystery Local Benefactor who supplied the prizes for each race.  Thanks to those who bought and named all of the horses.  Prizes should have been given for the imaginative horse names!

All in all the evening was voted a great success and FOLA125 look forward to seeing you at its next event.
