Our PTA Chair, Laura Lamb and PTA Member, Fiona MacLeod have completed a sponsored hike of the West Highland Way raising money for all the pupils at Lenzie Academy. They’ve already raised over £1600, but it’s not too late to support them and the PTA funds. If you wish to do so please click on the link below to sponsor them via the JustGiving page set up :

Fiona and Laura attended a planning meeting with their new mascot last night (name tbc, suggestions please). With a lot of measuring, scribbling, giggling and note taking we have agreed on our route for the upcoming West Highland Way sponsored walk. We have everything we need, including midge nets and waterproofs, let’s hope THEY stay in the rucksacks!
Route :
Day 1 – Milngavie to Drymen
Day 2 – Drymen to Rowardennan
Day 3 – Rowardennan to Inverarnan
Day 4 – Inverarnan to Tyndrum
Day 5 – Tyndrum to Kingshouse
Day 6 – Kingshouse to Kinlochleven
Day 7 – Kinlochleven to Fort William

Original post from Laura Lamb :

“As Chair of Lenzie Academy PTA since 2019 it is time for me to step down as my youngest daughter is leaving school. It has been an unusual 4 years with many challenges but I have enjoyed fundraising on behalf of the school community and in particular being able to provide equipment and supplies for the school that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them. Before I leave, along with fellow committee member Fiona MacLeod, I’m hoping to raise money by walking the 96 miles of the West Highland Way and we would appreciate your donations. As we complete the walk, over 7 days from May 31st, we will write a brief blog and update social media, justgiving and the PTA website with photos. Thank you in advance for your support and I will be happy to hand over the reins of the PTA to a new Chair and the rest of the fabulous committee at the end of the school year.”

Good luck Laura & Fiona! Hope you don’t get too many blisters!
